| The New Holland Apartments |

![]() The New Holland is currently on the National Register of historic places. It is an ornate, five-story red brick building with a strong feeling of Dutch Revival Architecture, evoked by complex roof forms, stepped gables, corbels, dormers and oriels. It is located two blocks from the downtown Danville business district. The northern half of the structure was completed in 1906, and the southern portion was added in 1927. Together they contained 68 apartment units, four retail stores, and a large ground floor restaurant. The integrity of the original design endures, although some details are in need of repair and relatively minor alterations have been made to first floor facades. The completed building has 47 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments.
